Nusa Penida is the biggest of the three Nusa Islands just off from mainland Bali. Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan make up the trio of islands, each with uniquely breath-taking landscapes. There are so many awesome things to do on Nusa Penida
Nusa Penida is one of the best kept secrets in and around Bali and we can’t wait to share with you our experience and travel guide to this beautiful untouched island.

Getting to Nusa Penida Island

There are a few ways you can get to Nusa Penida, either from Bali or Nusa Lembongan.
If you’re arriving from Bali there are two ports you can depart from, Sanur and Padang Bai the latter being the port for the cheap public ferry. If you decide to choose this option, you’ll need to check the departure time as the ferry departs at different times regularly.
There is a lot more choice departing from Sanur, including many companies offering fast boats taking 30 – 40 minutes to reach Nusa Penida

Time Table Fast Boat to Nusa Penida Island :

  • From Sanur:
    08.00 AM
    11.15 AM
    15.30 PM
    17.45 PM
  • From Nusa Penida:
    07.00 AM
    09.00 AM
    14.30 PM
    18.00 PM

What to bring :
– A waterproof backpack for snorkeling, exploring beaches
– Trekking Shoes and sandals
– Snacks
– Plenty of rupiah because you wont find many ATMs on the island
– A bathing suit because the beaches are incredible and you will want to swim
– A lightweight towel for drying off after you swim and snorkel
– Sunscreen
– Sunglasses and a hat

Awesome Things to do in Nusa Penida

East South Nusa Penida Island

1. Atuh Beach

Atuh Beach is a stunning white sand beach surrounded by the huge cliffs and remarkable rock formations. An arch sits directly out from the shore while several islets string off in the distance.

2. Suwehan Beach

Suwehan Beach is an even less visited destination, about half an hour north of Atuh Beach. You can either reach it in about half an hour from Atuh Beach, or along a very steep road from further south which winds down the cliffs and is rather unsuitable for cars.
From the parking area, you just follow the concrete path and stairs until you get to the beach, which should take no more than 10 minutes on the way down. It’s not far, but very exhausting on the way back up thanks to the stairs with huge steps.

3. Thousand Island

Firstly, you might be wondering what Pulau Seribu means and it actually just means Thousand Island. This location is sometimes referred to as Pulau Seribu and sometimes as the Thousand Island Viewpoint so I thought I would reference both.

4. Nusa Penida Tree House ( RUMAH POHON )

The Tree House (Rumah Pohon) on Nusa Penida has become something of a craze. It is perched up on the mountain at Thousand Island (Pulau Seribu) viewpoint near Atuh Beach.

5. Teletubbies Hill

Awesome Things to do in Nusa Penida

West South Nusa Penida Island

1.  Angel Billabong

Angel’s Billabong is one of the magical spots . A crystal clear tide pool cascades into the ocean on the east coast of Nusa Penida. Out in that ocean, Manta Rays cruise the coast at leisure.

2. Broken Beach

Broken Beach is an incredible little cove on Nusa Penida island. The highlight of the cove and the reason it is called Broken Beach is due to the archway that wraps around the bay allowing water to flow in and out from the ocean

3. The Secret Point Of  Kelingking Beach

Here is a great little tip for enjoying Kelingking Secret Point Beach from a unique angle.
