Detailed 3D2N Itinerary
Day 1: Bali – Transfer to Banyuwangi
Pick-up from your hotel in South Bali (Kuta, Ubud, Sanur, Seminyak, or Canggu). Scenic drive along Bali’s countryside, passing rice terraces, local villages, and coastline views. Afternoon: Arrive at Gilimanuk Harbor, then cross by ferry (approx. 1 hour) to Ketapang Harbor, East Java. Evening Check-in at a hotel in Banyuwangi, rest and prepare for the midnight Ijen hike. Overnight in Banyuwangi.
Day 2: Ijen Blue Fire Trek – Transfer to Bromo
12:00 AM (Midnight) Depart from hotel and drive to Paltuding Base Camp (approx. 1–1.5 hrs). Begin trekking (±3 km / 1.5–2 hrs) to reach the rim of Mount Ijen. Descend into the crater (with safety gear) to witness the rare Blue Fire phenomenon, only visible at night. Watch sunrise over the stunning turquoise Ijen crater lake, surrounded by volcanic cliffs. Trek back down to Paltuding and transfer to hotel for breakfast and shower. Check out and begin scenic drive (6–7 hrs) across East Java’s landscapes towards the Bromo area. Arrive in Cemara Lawang Village, check-in at hotel with views of Mount Bromo. Evening free at leisure – rest early for the sunrise adventure. Overnight near Bromo.
Day 3: Bromo Sunrise – Return to Bali / Surabaya
03:00 AM: Depart by 4WD jeep to Penanjakan Viewpoint for one of the world’s most famous sunrises. Witness sunrise over Mount Bromo, Mount Batok, and Mount Semeru (Java’s highest volcano). Jeep ride across the Sea of Sand, then short hike (250 steps) up to Bromo’s crater rim to see steaming volcanic activity. Return to hotel for breakfast and refresh. 09:30 AM: Check out, transfer to: Surabaya Airport/Hotel (approx. 3–4 hrs) for onward flights, or drive + ferry back to Bali (approx. 8–10 hrs).
