Day 1: Arrival in Yogyakarta – Wayang Kulit & Batik Traditions**
Arrive at Yogyakarta’s Adisucipto International Airport (YIA). Your private driver and guide will transfer you to your hotel, immerse yourself in Javanese artistry. Visit a Wayang Kulit (shadow puppet) workshop, witnessing the creation of these iconic puppets and enjoying a short performance. Next, explore a local batik workshop, observing the intricate process of creating these beautiful textiles. Enjoy a delicious dinner at a traditional restaurant followed by a captivating Ramayana Ballet performance.
Day 2: Yogyakarta's Royal Heritage & Prambanan's Majesty**
After breakfast, explore the Kraton (Sultan’s Palace), a stunning example of Javanese architecture. Continue by becak (rickshaw) to the Taman Sari Water Castle, a former royal complex. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Prambanan, a magnificent 9th-century Hindu temple complex. Afterwards, experience rural Javanese life with a visit to Bugisan village, including an ox-cart ride, a traditional snack-making demonstration, a gamelan music lesson, and a Jamu (herbal medicine) making demonstration.
Day 3: Borobudur's Buddhist Splendor & Ancient Temples
After breakfast, journey to Borobudur, a magnificent 8th-9th century Buddhist temple, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Explore its intricate reliefs and towering stupas. Visit the nearby Mendut and Pawon temples, showcasing impressive stone carvings and architectural styles. Enjoy lunch before returning to Yogyakarta. The afternoon and evening are at your leisure to explore Malioboro Street or enjoy local cuisine. Please leave your main luggage at the hotel reception by 10 PM for transfer to Jombang.
Day 4: Journey to East Java: Trowulan & Bromo National Park
Enjoy breakfast before transferring to Yogyakarta Tugu Station for your executive-class train journey to Jombang (approx. 3.5 hours). Your guide will accompany you. Upon arrival, visit Trowulan, the ancient capital of the Majapahit Kingdom, exploring the archaeological museum and Candi Brajang Ratu and Candi Tikus temples. Continue to Bromo Tengger National Park and check into your hotel in Tosari or Ngadisari.
Day 5: Bromo Sunrise & Journey to Kalibaru
Wake up early for a breathtaking sunrise view of Mount Bromo from Penanjakan viewpoint (jeep 4WD included). Descend into the caldera and ascend Mount Bromo (horseback riding available). Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before checking out and transferring to Kalibaru via Jember. Enjoy scenic views and a lunch stop en route.
Day 6: Kalibaru's Spice Plantation & Transfer to Ijen/Banyuwangi
Enjoy breakfast and a tour of Margo Utomo Agro Resort’s spice plantation in Kalibaru, learning about coffee and spice cultivation. After lunch, travel to the Ijen volcanic region near Banyuwangi. Check into your hotel in Licin (near Kawah Ijen) or Ketapang.
Day 7: Ijen Crater Hike & Transfer to Bali (Optional)
Wake up early for a jeep transfer to the Ijen crater base camp. Hike to the crater rim (approx. 3 km, moderate difficulty) to witness the stunning turquoise crater lake and sulfur mining activities. Return to Banyuwangi for lunch. Transfer to Ketapang harbor for a ferry to Gilimanuk, Bali (optional).
