4-Day Bromo, Tumpak Sewu & Ijen Volcano Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Surabaya/Malang – Transfer to Bromo Bromo

Morning pick-up from Surabaya Airport/Hotel or Malang. Drive through scenic Javanese countryside and mountain villages. Arrive at your hotel in Cemoro Lawang (Bromo base). Free time to relax or optional short hike to enjoy sunset views of the Bromo caldera. Overnight in Bromo area.

Day 2: Bromo Sunrise & Crater – Tumpak Sewu Waterfall

03:00 AM: Early morning departure by 4WD Jeep to Penanjakan viewpoint. Capture the iconic sunrise over Mount Bromo, Mount Batok, and Mount Semeru. Descend to the Sea of Sand and hike up to Bromo Crater rim. Return to hotel for breakfast & check-out. Drive to Lumajang (±4 hours). Afternoon trek to Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, known as Indonesia’s Niagara Falls. Explore Goa Tetes cave with cascading waterfalls. Overnight in Lumajang.

Day 3: Lumajang – Transfer to Banyuwangi (Ijen Base)

Breakfast at hotel. Scenic drive through rural East Java towards Banyuwangi (±6–7 hours). Stop along the way for photography of rice terraces and villages. Arrive in Banyuwangi and check-in at hotel. Evening free program to rest before the midnight hike. Overnight in Banyuwangi.

Day 4: Ijen Blue Fire & Crater Lake – Transfer Out

00:30 AM: Depart hotel for Ijen basecamp. Start trek (±1.5–2 hours) to Ijen Crater. Witness the rare blue fire phenomenon (visible before sunrise). Capture sunrise over the turquoise lake and watch sulfur miners at work. Return to hotel for breakfast & shower. End tour with transfer to Bali or Surabaya (depending on your next destination).
