Day 1 : Arrival Medan - Medan City Tour
Meet and greet with our staff at Kualanamu airport in Medan then drive to the heart of the city at Merdeka Square. start your walking tour from the historical city hall ( 1906 ) to admire preserved old colonial building along kesawan street including formerly javaasche Bank which is now Bank Indonesia.
The Great Mosque (1906) is one of the Sultan of Deli’s legacie. it is considered as the largest and most beautiful mosque in Northern Sumatera. Sultan’s Palace (1888) located one block away to the west across the single track railway is also known as “The Yellow Palace” or “Maimoon Palace”. It is the ceremonial palace of the Sultans of Deli with its yellow trim & typical east coast Malay architecture with living quarters occupied by the Sultan's families and became the centre of the Deli kingdom. Other highlights not to be missed are Medan’s oldest Hindu Temple Sri Mariamman Temple (1881) in Kampung Keling, a busy commercial center with its name inspired by Medan’s Indian community. Transfer to your hotel in the afternoon and enjoy evening at leisure.
Day 2 : Medan - Tangkahan
Enjoy an early breakfast at the hotel. Check out afterwards and depart for Tangkahan via Binjai at 8 hours . Arrive in Tangkahan which is dubbed as ‘Hidden Paradise’, you will be welcomed by the greenery of the rainforest and and the sound of the flowing Buluh River nearby.
After registering yourself at the visitor center, proceed to your lodge*. Enjoy lunch then free at leisure time to unwind after the long drive until time for you to get to the Elephant Sanctuary on foot for elephant bathing scheduled at 15:30hrs. Take advantage of this free time to have a quick swim in the flowing river, or to explore the surroundings yourself and to locate a hotspring in a small cave by the river. There is also a small waterfall nearby where you can get a ‘jungle massage’. Please inform the lodge’s caretaker before go out exploring by yourself or if you would like to be accompanied.
At 15:00hrs, leave the lodge to get to the Elephant Rehabilitation Center on foot. Here you can observe the elephants from a safe distance. The mahouts will then direct the beautiful mammals including a few baby elephants to the nearby river for their bathing time. back to lodge rest and relax.
